Consignment 101

When it comes to your closet, more is not necessarily more. You want it, you buy it, you wear it and then…it’s over, on to the next thing. Simply put, consignment is when you can sell items, earn a percentage of the sale and make room for the next obsession.

Shopping contemporary consignment gives you the opportunity to discover pieces from those same designers you love for a fraction of the retail cost.

Whether you consign or shop or both, consignment helps your closet move just as fast as fashion itself.

What is 2nd Time Around?

2nd Time Around specializes in curating incoming consignment in a unique environment. We feature brand-new, and pre-owned clothing and accessories from contemporary designer brands at a competitive market price. Consignors get a return on what they paid for their designer clothing. Shoppers get to buy designer brands at a fraction of the original retail price.

So many things to love, so little time. We make consigning seamless and exciting. With over 40 boutiques and a call-to-purchase option on our social channels there’s more options to sell your pieces faster, in-store or by phone. New arrivals are on the floor within 48 hours (often sooner) where they get sold on average within 21 short days.

Payment

How our pricing works

Our stylists have impeccable taste and an eye for what’s current and what’s selling. They use our “2TA” formula to calculate the perfect resale price based on well-researched retail prices. Here’s how it works: Items are generally priced at 30%-40% of their original retail value, depending on condition and style. Extremely current popular items, especially handbags and accessories, are sometimes priced at 50% - 65% of original retail. New items with tags are usually priced approximately 50% of the price listed on the tag.

Transparency

We value your trust. You can always view the prices of your items online in your personal My2ta account or log in any time to track the sales of your items. Please note, new My 2TA accounts will be created once items are entered and processed at the store where you consign. Please allow 48-72 hours for processing. Payment options

You can either opt to have a monthly check sent to you or accumulate cash in your account to use instantly as store credit at any location.

Providing our customers with the best designers available is our number one priority. We are committed to selling high-end, established brands, as well as the hottest up-and-coming designers. To ensure that your merchandise will meet these standards, please refer to our list below of some of the brands that we carry. While we do have a standardized brand list of designers that we accept company-wide, through our years of experience in the business we have come to understand that each store has it’s own neighborhood footprint.

What does that mean for you as a consignor?

We want to convey that while some brands may flourish at one store, for another stores’ demographic there might be a different genre that works better. For the sake of attaining the best possible sell-through at each location, we encourage you to keep that in mind at the time of your consignment appointment!
